Updated Top Ten list

In today’s blog I will be giving my opinion on my top ten favorite country singers.

Since the last time I wrote my top ten list, my thoughts have changed but they haven’t changed to the extent of none of them being taken off that list but just the order of them.

Eric Church- “Springsteen”

Jake Owen- “Barefoot Blue Jean Night”

Jason Aldean-”Fly Over States”

Trace Adkins- “Just Fishin’”

Rodney Atkins- “He’s Mine”

George Strait- “All My Ex’s Live in Texas”

Zac Brown Band- “Keep Me in Mine”

Jason Aldean- “Dirt Road Anthem”

Darius Rucker- “Alright”

These are my favorite artist and my favorite song by them. I like each one of these artist because they have their own style and own personality. Not one of them are the same or even similar.

While I was writing this I started listening to “Tattoos On This Town”, and realize what the song actually means. It is about a group of friends that always hangout. One couple gets married and the way he proposed was by writing “Allie Will you Marry me? on the side of a bridge. As the song goes on you realize that he is in the Marines. And it show footage from the war and then his wife gets a knock on the door only to be told her husband has died.

I guess the moral to the song is that while you're here you do things that leave an impression on the people and the town from where you are from. You never really understand what a song means until you have seen the video or if that’s the way your mind works.

When I turn 18 I’m thinking of joining the Marines. The only reason I am joining is because I want to feel like when I die I left a good impression on the world and the people that love me.

Country vs. Rap

In today’s blog I’m going to compare and contrast country music and rap music.

Throughout the years, both genres are criticized as well as its fans. Many people judge country and its fans simply because it’s not their type of music. You often hear people make remarks about country fans such as hillbillies and  “rednecks”. On the other side you have the people who “cut-down” rap because they don’t think it promotes a positive message but  in reality, the people judging face the same vulgarity and sexual morality that is in rap because both types of music share similarities in this area as well.

Two major differences between country and rap can be compared and contrasted by looking at what each genre supports. Rap (for the most part), supports criminality and unjust behaviors while country is generally more appreciative of the little things in life that aren’t in harm’s way. The difference between the two types of music is very simple; country is exceptionally the overall most formal and most decent pick of the two categories, as compared to rap which is labeled by most, which is simply worse because of its inexcusable behavior and unforgettable sin.

In most rap songs they talk about having sex, selling drugs, using drugs, and killing people. Here are some lyrics of a rap song:

On the phone cooking dope at the same d*** time
Selling white selling mid at the same d*** time

Many country songs talk about drinking, having fun with your life and being with the people you love:

A full moon shinin’ bright
Edge of the water; we were feelin’ alright
Back down a country road
The girls are always hot, and the beer is ice cold

Now you pick which one you would rather let your child listen to. The one about cooking dope and selling it. I know I would want my kid to grow up listening to country over rap.

Interview of My Father

In today’s blog I’m going to give you the opinion of a country music listener. I am interviewing my father to give me his input on how he feels about country music.

My dad is 47 years old. He is a Gaston County Police Officer and has worked there for 16 years now. He played baseball in high school. After high school he joined the Marines. Then he went to Appalachian State University.

Q:
How has country music impacted your life.
A:I use country music as an escape from the chores of daily life.  I listen to country music every day while I am working.  I use the music to help me deal with the problems of everyday people.  Most of the country songs you hear on the radio, I see first hand in the lives of the people i am called to assist.

Q:How often do you listen to country music.
A:As I stated, I listen to country everyday.  It is my go to music then i lean towards southern rock because it has such country background.

Q:Do you ever think you should have pursued a career in music? And why?
A:I know I never had a chance in a career in the music industry, one reason is I can’t sing.

Q:What’s your favorite country song?
A:I have a lot of favorite country songs but if I had to pick it would be “The Dance” by Garth Brooks with “The Chair” by George Strait being a close second.

Q:Why do  you choose country over rock n’ roll or hip hop?
A:I think country music songs tell a story that I can relate too.  A lot of the songs I have lived and others I would like to live.  The main reason I prefer country to hip hop is that I can understand the words while they are singing the songs.

Q:Who is your favorite country singer/singers?
A:I don’t have one favorite singer, I like the song not really the singer.  If I had to chose one singer, I would have to pick Toby Keith just for his patriotic themes and his support of the military.  As a US Marine I like how his songs let the country know who paid the price so they can play their video games and stand on the corner and trash the police and the government.

Q:Does country music ever seem to get boring to listen to? And why?
A:For the most part the music does not get boring but the order and repetitiveness of the song that the radio station plays the songs, can cause me to search the stations to find another one.

Top Ten Country Artist

Today I’m am going to tell you about my top ten favorite country music singers and my favorite song by them.

Rodney Atkins- He’s Mine

Eric Church- Springsteen

Toby Keith- Beers Ago

Trace Adkins- Just Fishin’

Alan Jackson- So You Don’t Have To Love Me Anymore

Kip Moore- Somethin’ Bout A Truck

George Strait- All My Ex’s Live in Texas

Zac Brown Band- Keep Me in Mine

Jake Owen- Barefoot Blue Jean Night

Darius Rucker- Alright

These are my favorite artist because they all have their own type of style and not one of them are the same. Many may sound similar but after you listen to them for a while you realize that they are completely different.

This is Darius Rucker posing for his album cover. Aviable at http://goo.gl/qGOzY

My favorite song is He’s Mine by Rodney Atkins because this reminds me of how me and my dad are. I’m just like him and he’s just like me. This is what his song is about how he and his son are exactly the same and if they were put side by side as teenagers you couldn’t tell the difference.

Springsteen by Eric Church is another really good song. He is talking about a girl that he loves and he hopes that when she thinks about him she thinks about when they were seventeen and running the streets and having fun in their teenage lives.

Country music is a thing that you either completely enjoy or you hate. But I bet that if you listen to one of those songs you will listen to another and then you will maybe start to enjoy it.

How to Become a Famous Singer

Have you ever wondered how to become a famous singer or musician. Today I am going to tell you just how to do that.

  1. You must have a decent voice.

     2.   You  need a rocking band

     3.   You must get a recording contract.

     4.   Have a good agent/ manager.

     5.   A lawyer to do the legal work.

These  are the key things that you need to become a famous singer. As you age your voice will start to fade but a good music shuffler can make you sound twenty years old again.

If you don’t have a good voice then you become famous it will just be harder. There are many people that can sing at all but have become famous. Rebecca Black is a perfect example of a terrible singer that got a shot and they still took her off the record company because it made their company go down the drain.

If you want to know how to play an instrument i would recommend that you take some band classes in school or taking private lesson in your free time. I have never been into play an instrument but if I had to learn to play one I would pick the bass. This is because your bass player has to have rhythm and I have rhythm.

There has been a lot of talk here lately about Illuminate. Illuminate are people who sell their souls to the devil. The people who are in Illumination are famous singers, basketball players (such as LeBron James).

As Kenny Chesney said he didn’t know what he wanted to do in life until he got his first guitar.

Keith Urban Inducted into Grand Ole Opy

Many people may think that music stars start with a big recording contract but that’s not true. My parents went to Nashville on weekend and found a bar where many of them first got recognized as a good singer.

This isn’t a big bar it’s a little hole in the wall. There has been 5-6 artist get a recording contract that just started singing there.

The Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee you have to be invited to sing there. I didn’t know this until I heard a radio broadcast about Keith Urban getting invited to sing there. He is playing there April 21, for his first time at the Opry.

Keith Urban being told he is becoming a member of The Grand Ole Opry.

To be able to sing at The Grand Ole Opry is a privilege not every singer is able to sing there. Most of the ones that sing there become LEGENDS.

Keith Urban has been singing country music since he before he came to American. He has been here for twenty-one years. To many this is a dream that only a few get experience.

As of April 21st 2012 Keith Urban is the newest member of The Grand Ole Opry. When singers become members they are awarded with a 14 inch replica of the microphone and then they get a cake that looks like a Fender guitar.

Video of Keith Urban receiving award and talks about the experience it is. Available at http://youtu.be/-u0oo_XmDqU

I found an article where Keith Urban talks about how its a honor to become a member of The Grand Ole Opry.
“Thank you very much! Yee haw! That is awesome!” Urban began. Is how Keith Urban began his statement after he received his membership trophy (pictured above).

What my blog is about

Hey and welcome to a blog that’s all about music.

In my blogs I’m going to tell you about the latest music, new and upcoming artist. There aren’t many blogs that cover this subject. I take it upon myself to inform the internet about the newest music.

What all types of music do you listen to? What are your favorite songs and favorite artist? How does their music appeal to you?

I listen to almost every kind of music such as country, rap, rock, rock & roll, oldies. My favorite song is He’s Mine by Rodney Atkins. I enjoy listening to his music because I can relate to it.
Rodney Atkins newest album.
Available at http://goo.gl/nDeUi

If you enjoy listening to rap then there is a website call Current Hip-Hop that has all the newest songs and every artist you can think of. I used to listen to rap but I got tired of it. And the only time I would listen to it was when I was driving somewhere.

I would like for my audience to enjoy all kinds of music. This will only help us relate better. Many people say they hate country music but I bet they have never listened to it for more than five minutes. If you only like one type of music then I push you to go try others. I’ve started listening to house music also and that helps me relax.

Giving things a chance is part of life. Without chance then you never know what could have been. There is more than one type of music and the one that you like to listen to is probably getting old to you. So while you’re in the car switch the station and find something that sounds good to you or something that you think you may be interested in.
